Default car slow to start in the morning.

I've noticed lately that the car is slow to start in the morning. It is always the first start of the day. Last winter when I had this problem I though it was the battery so I had that replaced. Lately i've noticed it starting again.

By slow to start I mean that instead of starting on the first or second crank, you will hear the engine turn over 2-3 times before it fires.

Is there any maintence items I could prob look into regarding this?

Car is a '06 wrx, fully stock with a cobb stage 1 tune. 5 speed. 70,000km on odo.

not much has been done in terms of maintience. Oil changes every 5000km and all fluids where changed out last year.

Default slow start

try the fuel filter if you haven't changed already.

Next would be ignition items and o2 sensors.

Clean your intake filter (or replace) and MAF

not cold at all, it was about 10 deg C outside today........ I didn't even have a jacket on.

I'm running standard castrol gtx 5w-30.. so I don't "think" it is that. It is really noticable when it drops to -10 or 15 tho. Funny thing is second start of the day and it is completely normal... even if it's after work (sitting for 8+ hours).

Tranceport - I was under the impression that the '06 does not have a fuel filter, it is just an in tank sock that is "auto clean"..... ignition items.. I guess I could do plugs soon, even tho they arn't due yet.

Intake filter, i'll defently check that, replaced it 2 years ago and checked it 3-4 months ago, looked fairly clean to me. I do have a spair on hand if need be

MAF, any way to clean this?

there should be an external fuel filter, on the right side of the intercooler, look's like a black can with two tube;s going into it. I have an 02 wrx so it may be different but not sure.

DirtyWRX, I know what you are talking about as I also have a '03 ts at home, and that filter is "missing" on my wrx. I"ll double check in the morning but i'm fairly sure it's not there.
