I was sitting up on 12th floor in a meeting overlooking Des Moines this morning. Nasty stuff rolling in as the tornado sirens were going off. Needless to say, I wasn't paying much attention to the meeting. I think most of Des Moines was okay, though.

I was about to take a pic via my phone, but decided to go downstairs when the other surrounding buildings' windows started flexing from the wind...

I threw up from motion sickness being on the 49th floor of the Willis Tower.. Damn swaying skyscrapers..
From what I hear some of the windows on 30th got blown out. traffic all around the tower got blocked. Couldn't see the carnage as I was more concerned about getting my ass home.

Here in the Quad Cities we are getting slammed right now with Tstorms. So everyone east of us should be expecting storms later tonight.

Minimal damage here, but my power went out for a while and later when I went out, power was out in spots and there were some nasty looking clouds. I went and drove around after the first batch of storms came through. Getting crappy looking here again though.

It was really dark downtown; we were told we could leave at four but it was already starting so we just watched from the windows on the 18th floor; didn't hear about the Willis Tower getting any damage, though.

This evening was very nice, though. I went on the roof and the view was pretty good:

Even the fire department was patrolling as usual:

All in all it was a nice afternoon; no trees down, everything was even drying out:

But of course round two is on its way:

It's dark now but I see some big bolts of lightning to the north and west. Think I'll go back on the roof for a better view.

Everything seems fine at my house in crystal lake. I
parked inside at work in addison. The winds were crazy and were blowing rocks
and tree limbs like crazy!
