i may be incorrect about the misfire part, but it stutters occasionally and then runs fine. this has happened about 4 times when i accelerate and nothing seems to happen except the stutter. wife said it stalled on her one morning. i just find it weird that it didn't throw a code. are there any problems with the coilpacks on these or something like that? could it just be the E3 sparkplugs ive been using for the last 20k miles? if i went to a stealership i wonder if they'd even find anything....

it broke down yesterday, cost $82 for a tow. sat overnight at Pacific Import Auto in spanaway, wa (anyone with a subaru in the NW will probably recognize that name) and this morning they looked at it and couldn't find anything. i drove 30+ miles with no problems. problem wont throw a code so who could find anything. im sure a stealership will tell me the same thing. my wifes powertrain warranty is up in 1500 miles.

maybe i'm misunderstanding you, but i had a couple cars with issues like this (not as new), which were bad selenoids and choked fuel injection system-- or so I was told. I ended up getting rid of both of them while they were running.
