The future as designed in the 30s
This idea has been around for a very long time. It's called a swing-piston engine, there's like 3 companies right now who claim it as their new idea to change the world. Except none of them actually run.

I remember reading about this type of engine when I was looking up info on rotary engines. How are they sealing the torus "cylinder"?
