Default Clay bar question.....

Okay, I've read through posts and have seen them get used and get really nasty and dirty.

What in the world do you use to clean the clay bar? Is it a one time use thing?

Curious,
Jose

you cannot clean a clay bar. say you use one side of the clay bar on your car NEVER flip it over, and use the other side! just fold it to were both sides are clean again. you repeat this every time one side gets dirty, depending on the size of the clay bar, it is usually good for about 12-15 cars.

And above all, if you drop it (I do this all the time), throw it away. Don't even think about it.

I always keep extra clay handy for this reason.

I would just get a clay bar and cut it in thirds... use the a third at a time till they get dirty than throw it away. probably one clay bar per car to be on the safe side

I cut my claybars up into smaller pieces.

When it starts to get dirty, ball the clay up in your hand and flatten it out. When you no longer get a clean area to work with, throw it out.

....I think it is also important to note that if you do cut the bar (for folks new to this), just make sure that you use sizes that are still properly workable. You don't want a chunk that is too small to safely allow contaminants to be embedded and folded into the product. Also, bars will vary in size so whether you cut yours into thirds, in half, etc. will depend.

I usually can reuse clay twice, depending how how dirty it gets. But, for the most part, they are one time use only. Also, if you drop it while you're claying, do NOT reuse it. Buy a new one.
