Default Where to go Camping for a 4 day weekend?

Hey guys,

Me and my girlfriend have a 4 day weekend this week and are trying to figure out where we want to go.

we are looking to go camping (small cabin, car camping, or short length backpack)

Thinking Ross Lake up by hope, but we are looking for other options.
-would like it to be in a forest on/near a lake, and in an area that might have nice weather.
-Really cool environment (lakes, waterfall, mountain, etc)
-within ~4h of Langley (unless its really worth it)

Any Recommendations?

Anywhere is bc is cool but first come first serve spots will fill quickly for a long weekend.I would go up after work on Wednesday or really really early on Thursday.

Some of my favorites close by are Alice lake just past Squamish, Golden Ears by Maple Ridge, Sasquatch by Harrison, and Chilliwack Lake by well Chilliwack. I would say Chilliwack will be the less busy of those.

Golden Ears is nice, but it still a very local camping site imho. If I remember correctly, we were able to walk the whole lake within the day. Further up north should have better hiking adventures.

You are gonna be hard pressed to find spots at any of the big provincial sites since it is a long weekend. The one thing on your side is that it is raining so some people may wimp out and leave some spots open.

It was mostly first come, first serve, which would do ok for you, last year we enjoyed going up to Hicks lake in Sasquatch park (just outside of Harrison)

If you are thinking of Chilliwack lake, there is some good hiking around there, but it does fill up on holiday weekends. Try to go early if possible.

If you want to far as Hope , you can check out Silver Skagit road. Long logging road goes about 70km's all the way to the US boarder . The road eventually forks two ways if you keep to the right it will lead you to Silver lake , I think thats a provincial site , and if you keep to the left there is the river along the road and lots of spots to camp .
No rules along the river , that's where we were with our machines .
I found this walking trail it was pretty cool but I'm not sure what km mark that was .

The other awesome and quiet place ( I think you'll like this one ) is Cat lake , after Squamish . This is a small but super cool lake .I swam across in like 20 minutes .
It's not close to Langley but it's another option .
There is also Alice lake in the Squamish area that's super nice .

I second this spot!

Been there twice now and it's awesome!

Was there for the May long weekend and had a great time! It was crazy busy as it was also Grad, so the cops had a road block set up just as the ashfault ended and the dirt started.

If they are there, just say you are camping with friends at the provincial park. If you have booze, and are not in a provincial park, it's like drinking on the side of the street downtown and they can ticket you for open alchohol. Not that they would ever go up there to find you but that goes for any crown land no matter where you are!
