Default subaru shadow still there

i debadged the subaru emblem on the trunk the other day and there is still a shadow on the lid... any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

make sure all the residue is off.

i then washed, clay, then polished
dont see anything anymore

Did you try washing then buffing it? If that doesn't work then probably the next thing after that would be to re paint it, because paint that is covered by a badge or a sticker will not fade as quickly as the rest of the paint.

You can try to polish it out, but sometimes (especially after many years of sun) it will just be there. My car was only 2 years old when I did it and I was never able to get the "halo" of the lettering to go away. It took someone rear-ending me and a new trunk lid to make it perfect!

When I debadged my first car (96 Maxima, oh yeah) I used a bit of rubbing compound and the fading went away. Not sure if that was the right way to do it or not, but hey.

I've debadged a few cars that I've detailed. And on my car I removed the side moldings. There was slight yellowing underneight where the moldings were. Just from parking it outside @ work during the day, the yellowing went away.

Do what's been said, clay, polish and wax it. Then park it in the sun for a few days and the fading/discoloration should go away over time.
