Hi, I'm Bryan from Racer X engineering. We are a small company that has a goal of putting out quality products at great prices. I started out and a subie enthusiast not willing to pay for overpriced FMICs(FMIC started at $1300 for '05 legacy GTs). So, I decided to make my own with the help of members on legacyGT.com (My ID over their is "itsme"). From that came the "DIY FMIC" for Legacys. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...light=diy+fmic Since, I used the XO2 racing FMIC as the base for the modd they bought my prototype and started selling this kit. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea....html?t=100630 It sold very well.
But, the kit had short comings. You had to trim the bumper beam(PITA) and you would lose your fogs and it would not fit '07+ LGTs with air pumps.

I got a lot of PMs from members asking if I could make a new kit that would fix all of these problems and still allow them to use stock LGT/'08+ WRX style turbos and STI style turbos. I started this thread. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...rx-112489.html I got input from members as I designed the kit. To make sure I made the best kit I could. I went out and found a manufacture to make the kits and started this company. This kit new from the ground up and shares nothing with other kit. Since '05-'09 LGTs and '08+WRXs share the same chassis the kits fits both cars. '08+ Sti and '10 LGT FMIC kits are being developed now.

Now about the FMIC:
The kit are: New lower price $699 shipped w/ BOV flange Local pickups ok The kits come with: -All beaded pipes -t-clamps -Silicone couplers - Bar and Plate intercooler - 1 year warranty againts defects That is less then most aftermarket TMIC and members are reporting 10whp to 20whp improvement over aftermarket TMIC. Plus little to no power loss in hot weather not like TMIC. My prices are lower because I have very little overhead and I'm still able to deliver a high quality product. Yes, other kits have bigger core but, sometime bigger is not always better. My core is still over twice the size of a TMIC and with my FMIC "M sprank" is making close to 400whp with his '08 Spec. B that has a 68hta and supporting mods on e85. Now he is shooting for 450whp. So if those numbers are within you goals then the size of my core should be fine. Another reason I went with this core size was to save the stock crash beam. When I was younger speed was the most important thing. Now, it's keeping my family safe and making it home to them everyday. Other kit remove the bumper beams and give you a mount for the core. With that setup the core is out in front. So a little bump from another car in the parking lot that would be no damage if you had a beam. Can now damage your core and leave you stranded. You know how bad you car runs with a vacuum leak. Just think what it would do with a damage core. Also the other FMIC that remove the beam don't give you a crash rating for their beams. And if you do get into a real crash will the insurance company reject your claim becasue your removed your crash beam? Those are some of the reasons I picked the IC I use in the kit. Just something to think about. So now you can have the power of a FMIC, that lets you choose which turbo you want to use(sti style or LGT/'08+WRX) at the price of a TMIC. All without having to serverly hack up your car like other kits. So you can easily go back to stock whenever you want. '08+ Sti and '10 Legacy GT fitment kits coming soon. The kit is confirmed to fit '05 to '09 LGTs and '08+WRXs with stock intake manifolds. Here are pictures of the kit:
![]() Above are the pipes you use when you install a STi style turbo ![]() here are the pipes you use when you use a lgt/'08+wrx style turbo. The kit includes all the parts for both setups at the price above. I don't nickle and dime you. Unlike alot of other kits I have a very detailed install thread that shows you how to install the kit. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131072 This kit also just about any intake even some have got stock air boxes to work with this kit. I recommend the KS tech intakes. http://www.kstech.biz/servlet/the-20...kes/Categories They are a vendor here "kstech" and make quality intakes in different size to meet your performance needs. |

installed on a '05 LGT with STi style 20G:
You see where I got the name from racer X ![]() ![]() ![]() The kits are in stock and ready to ship. PM me if you have any questions You get more info on me and my product on www.racerXengineering.com or on www.legacygt.com My Id is "itsme". I rather you read unsolicited reviews about my reputation, product, and customer service so you can make a more informed decision. You may ask why if my FMIC has so many features are my prices so low? Because I have very little overhead, I have a day job so this project is not to put food on the table, and I think it's a fair price. Plus, the reason I started these projects were to make a quality FMIC at a fair price for other Subie owners. So, far over 80 kits have been sold in the last 6 months on legacygt.com alone so, I think I have the right price. Have a great day, BryanLast edited by RacerX Engineering-BRMQ; 07-04-2010 at 01:17 AM. |

It's getting hot. Are you getting tired of the power loss from the heat? A FMIC will help. I have my FMIC in stock and ready to ship.

I'm going to start making the mock up for the '08+ STi FMIC this weekend. When I'm done I'm going to have a GB to launch it. I'm going to try to make it a even $800 shipped. Will keep you up to date. Bryan

That is one of the main things about this kit. The core is the biggest that will fits behind the beam and you don't have to modify your bumper beam. You do very little modding to install the kit and all you need is common had tools. It makes it easy to go back to stock if you need to. Bryan

The '08+ Sti FMIC mock up went well. I'm send the sending the new pipe out to get a prototype made on Monday. Will post pictures of full setup installed when the new pipe gets here.
The kit is very easy to install. Member got here at about 12:15pm. We took his car apart, installed the kit, made the mock up of the new pipe for STi and put his car back to stock and we were done by 3pm. I didn't post the member name because if I post the member name I use for test fits my FMIC. They will get a bunch of PM asking question and I don't know if he wants to deal with that. But, he is free to post if he likes. Also I'm a designer and manufacture. If you guys need a product made let me know. I will see if I can get it made and sell it for a better price then everyone else. After I get the STi FMIC finished I'm starting work on the '10 legacy FMIC and catted and cattless downpipe for '08+WRX(WRX auto and 5mt) and STi's . I plan on having a full product line of quality part that members want at a lower price then the rest. Bryan |

Sweet. Let me know when you finish the STI FMIC. Will it adapt to my p&l rotated kit? IF so, I will be buying one if the pricing is the same.

I sold out of FMICs so I'm started a new GB http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...gt-146360.html The new kit is V.3 and includes improvements like new pipe for better STi fitments, new timing cover bolt for more clearance, and a new two piece cold side pipe for easier installs and battery removal.
I also got Mike on board to give a discount on Walbro fuel pump and Pre-modded drop-in fuel pump assembly to everyone that buys the new kit or have bought my kit in the pass. I know alot of people wanted fuel pumps in the pass and I was not able to get them. But, Mike got the line on them and has great prices. Infamous1 is now offering a discounts on tunes with my FMIC and I have lowered the price on my FMIC a bit. You can save about $100 if you buy the package. So follow the like above for more info.
