Default Excellent!

That's incredible! I'm definitely going to follow your install, as I too have a '99 that I'd like to turbo some day.

What stage kit is it? Are you going with the TEC II set up? Do you think you'll have problems with the notorious '99 MAF? What type of exhaust system are you going to run? Are you going to take pictures of the install for all of us to drool over?

Sorry for all the questions, but I get excited when I see stuff like that for the '99 models.

To my knowledge the kit is designed on a 1999 2.5RS so the MAF problem has been addressed only if you are going with the TEC2 however the kit will still trigger the "check engine" light. What I'm going to do is short out the light. I am going with Vishnu Tec2 as well along with fuel pumps, and fuel rails. I'm also going to use the ACT clutch, Defi gauges (60mm white face Imperial standard) and custom exhaust. Vishnu performance only has 1 stage for the kit. I believe it is good up to 600hp that is if the tranny can handle that much power. The tranny should be able to handle up to ~7psi with care ~270+hp at the wheel.

David2z4 is the first...he is the expert now. THAT IS ONE SWEET RIDE YOU GOT THERE!!!

The turbo is Vishnu-designed custom-built Garret T3/T04 turbocharger (using new aero technnology for fast spool-up AND very high hp potential)

dont bother
What you need to do is cut the wire going to the CE light(cant remember offhand) and connect it to the TEC2-3. Then you will have a True CE light for the TEC. It will send you fault codes like the GM cars do.

At 7psi I'm guessing (at least) ~230hp and ~230 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels. Will have to wait and see when someone dynos their car.

If you followed SCC's Project 2.5RS. TEC2 was programmed to gradually increase boost from 7psi to 9psi between 4500rpm and 6000rpm it dynoed 261hp at the wheels at 5900rpm. If you look on the dyno at 3200rpm it already has more power then a stock RS and at 4500rpm it matched the stock output of a RX-7 twin turbo.

Tec2 WRX@19psi:
218hp
198 lb-ft

Stock WRX:
147hp
141 lb-ft
