I saw a couple Toyo Megacruisers in Tokyo and it was HILARIOUS, they could barely fit down smallerish roads and certainly couldn't fit in a normal parking stall or garage.

Pfft, that car is way to fancy for Surrey. It's straight up Langley.

Modern day Trans Am.
Too bad they killed off Pontiac. That was a name synonymous with power. Too bad they killed it with fwd crap, and that horrible Aztec.

I've never even seen one of those. Are they Toyota based, or just another rebadged asian hummer?

Not sure, definitely smaller than a hummer but extremely similar...could be on a Tundra frame...

Yes like you I had many wet dreams over those cars!

They are Toyota's response to the Hummer....100% Toyota If I ever win the Lottery or make a million in a Year I'll get one. lol

here is the spec sheet link

That would be weird, since the Tundra was a North America market truck. I don't think they brought them to Asia.

The reason I ask is because of the GM/Toyota relationship. Not to mention, Hummer's desire to license their H1 chassis to everyone and their dog.

I introduce you to the Dongfeng Hanma.

A chinese made H1 licensed from GM, and built by Dongfeng motors.
Wild isht.

edit: Thanks for the spec sheet snowman. That explain a lot, in that they both share suspension design, and both have the inboard discs. But the 150hp 4 banger diesel that powers the Toyota version is a far cry from the US versions 350ci V8, with 220 hp. The H1 has the 4 speed O/D trans, while the Toyota has something similar. Overall, they're pretty damn close.

Wow.

I had no idea, just pure conjecture. It would make far more sense that they licensed Toyo.
I know they had Toyota Cavaliers....

only 150 hp and 280lbs torque, that puts a cap on what that megacrusier can do in a bad way.

With gearing, I bet that thing could get to some serious places. I know the old school Land cruisers had small motors that made worthy torque, but made up for a lack of HP with gearing. Buddies have thrown 5.13 gears in their Samurais, and the thing will climb a steep grade at idle. They sure don't get there fast though...

Speaking of Land Cruisers,

and a more modern rendition.
