Question anyone up for a bike ride?

Anybody want to meet up in Boulder and ride mountain bikes for a day? I've heard great things about some of the trails out there. I'm still new to the sport so it would have to be something easy, but I'd love to go riding with some of you guys some time.

Anyone want suggest a date? I know there's alot going on for the next few weeks though. Anyone not going to the meet want to go ride?

We used to do a group ride on Saturdays, going someplace like Walker ranch (Boulder) or Hall Ranch (Lyons- closer to you folks). We have been talking about starting it up for a while- I just have been pretty busy lately (and there has been an autocross or something every weekend this year it seems).

I am game for whenever somebody wants to ride- right now I can't ride after work unless it is in Golden or Green Mtn, but something like a Saturday ride would work.

Maybe Saturday, Hall Ranch? Mark? Dave?

P.S.- Dolphin- I have a spare (medium) Fisher Mt. Tam that I could bring...

yeah, I remember you guys used to ride, that's why I posted I talked to Mark about a week ago and he said anytime but this weekend would work. Weekends are best for me, but I can probably work in something during the week if that works better for everybody else.

I'm in. If we do Hall Ranch, lets think either real early 8am or late afternoon around 4, to avoid the maddening crowds. It is one of the best rides imho.

I don't mind leaving Ft. Collins bright and early. Mark probably has to drive further than I do! The less people there to make fun of me the better

How rough is the terrain at hall ranch? Will a cycle cross bike hold up? or is it really MTB territory? (I have a friend visiting and am trying to figure out if I am going to need to have him rent.)

Well, its... doable... on a cross bike. There would be more walking on a cross bike than on a mountain bike (but they should be used to that and use it for training anyway ).

Strepto (and others who need directions):

-Go to Lyons (take 66 west from i-25 or 36 north from Boulder).
-Go north[edit: I meant west...] on 66 from Lyons for about 1 or 2 miles.
-Trailhead is on your right.

Here is a map (password is trailuser)

Edit: I meant to say go west from Lyons...

the morning has a few advantages
1) cooler
2) less chance of rain
3) the fools with the fire works probably won't have burned things down yet
4) the time can always be changed to something later

Seriously, i dropped that in a suggestion as no one else had flown one.

I think the Hall Ranch ride can take anywhere from 1.5 - 2.5 hours depending on amount of people, skill level and BS time. It would be wise to plan on finishing or a least getting to the top before it's 100 degrees. The way back is mostly all downhill.
