Holland?

Sorry, had to be done

Depends where you are, but a few bars downtown will be good. Smileys (big screen), Blarney Stone are playing games, any sports bar ... Commercial Drive?

Apparently one of the places Dutch fans will be getting together (according to the dutch fans of vancouver facebook group) is: Joe's Cafe - 1150 Commercial Drive

Anyone else think the refereeing was biased towards Spain? Feel bad for The Netherlands.

Ah ha! I have had nothing to drink. My friend was talking about his trip to The Netherlands, Denmark and some other places. He was telling a story about Denmark while I was typing. Doh!

The Dutch have nothing to complain about, except the wide open breakaway save the Spanish goalie made.

dutch did their best.. they did exactly what was needed against spain and that was to play extremely physical football.. i thought that worked pretty well even with all the yellow cards.. lol.. they could have been down 1 man way earlier from that kick in the chest to alonso..

i'm glad it didn't have to resolve to PK.. lol.. fair game i say..

I was thankful they were booted out reasonably early by a superior Germany team. I love football (soccer for you locals) but the English team were a disgrace. Overpaid bunch of useless m********* a****** g****** c********** etc etc

I think the Dutch were lucky to get away with the consistent fouling the way they did. I think they played on the fact that the ref would be very hesitant to issue any direct red cards in the WC final and therefore were more physical than necessary. Spain totally deserved it and I think the Dutch team's reaction to the loss (on the whole) was like watching a group of spoiled kids complain to their parents. They played well the whole tournament up to that point, why not go out with some dignity?
