FLI is now a Cosworth ECPro Tuning Facility

FLI is proud to announce that we are an authorized trained tuning facility for Cosworth’s ECPro ECU. The ECPro ECU is a very high quality unit that offers well written software for tuning, an exceptional stand alone datalogging system (used by Formula Ford until 2006), excellent knock control system, consistent closed loop control built on a military grade platform.

My visit to Cosworth was amazing. I reconnected with Eric Hsu (Product Development Manager at Cosworth USA), which ironically tuned my custom engine / turbo system XS Engineering built 1994 Nissan Sentra SE-R over 14 years ago. I got the grand tour of Cosworth USA’s 23,500 square foot facility (established in 1977), which is tooled up to build Formula Mazda spec engines (and older Formula spec engines), motor cycle engines, Subaru (EJ25), Nissan (VQ35), Mitsubishi (4G63 2.0 liter or 2.2 liter) on a repeatable consistent basis. Keep in mind all engines come with a build sheet and engine break in process instructions. They are the leader in high performance engine parts manufacturing here in the US.

-Two climate & air pressure controlled test rig rooms (engine dynos)
-Environmentally friendly cleaning room with aqua-based cleaning processes and machines
-Fabrication shop for internal dyno and test equipment manufacture
-Machine shop including CNC lathes & vertical multi access machine centres’ to handle tailored assembly and update machining procedures
-Fully stocked Parts Department
-Full Cad Engineering Design office

I also enjoyed the nostalgic posters, engines, engine parts, car parts and collectibles around the facility.

ECPro plug in replacement ECU applications are available for the 08-up Subaru STI and EVO X.
