do you just want to see what codes you have? or do you want a tool.....

Autozone has free diagnostics, so if you just need codes pulled, you can go there.....

I am just interested in seeing/clearing the codes.

What about this?

I can think of at least two basic types, the standalone and the cable/software type (requiring a PC, PDA, etc...).

Which do you want?

If you want the cable/software type, the www.OBD-2.com one is cheap through a group buy. I have also seen people selling their used ones for the group buy price in the i-Club classifieds. You could place a wanted ad.

The standalone ones are generally more expensive, but don't require a computer. A friend of mine has used the AutoXray one with good results.

Ebay has lots of inexpensive scan tools, too.

That looks okay if all you want to do is read and clear codes.

Here are some links:

http://www.allstates.com/OBD2%20code%20reader.htm

http://www.cnlaunch.com/worldwide/pr...is/creader.asp

This won't log data, like the www.obd-2.com one that I have, but it is quicker to use, since it doesn't require booting a laptop.
