Angry 2 Thumbs down for Norwood Subaru (MA)...

... and straight up my ass apparently.

I don't want to turn this post into a rant, so I won't go into the details of my "deal" from Norwood Subaru, although I will name Chris Dunne as an underhanded sales manager. My first contact at the dealership was good and I was feeling very confident , Richard B., but once he handed me to Chris, the deal quickly turned into a raw one.

If you guys want to know the low down, I'll provide one.

Later.

Exclamation the 411...

OK, the long story....

Did what I was supposed to and got a quote from 5 area dealers for around $23.3-.5K, including a bunch of options. I though this was good.

I had a '96 Land Rover Discovery (owed $8800/valued @ $9K trade from kbb.com and edmunds) and '00 SAAB Aero Wagon ($25,600/$24,000). SAAB was my girlfriend's, she getting a fleet car from her new job, so I was going to get rid of it for her.

Everyone with me so far?

Dealer was going to give me $8K for the LR and $22K for the SAAB, so I said that I'd be willing to move on the price of the car to compensate for the owed amounts. So I went up to retail for the car, plus some money for trade on the SAAB just to get rid of it. Ultimately, we came to a "deal" that got rid of both cars and I was happy to take the hit on the SAAB 'cause I love my g-friend soooooo much

As it turns out she'd been over paying and owed only $22K, so really, the deal comes down to me paying retail on a car that I was quoted at dealer cost.

Have I lost NE1?

So I go down to the dealership, and explain that the "deal" was made under the premise that Chris was making me a "deal" in that he was willing to give me more money on the trades, but this was "money on paper", to use his words.

He was unwilling to go back to the original offer, as the pay-off amount was no longer the issue for the trade, which was the original reason I made the decision to go with that "deal".

So basically, I think I'm stuck with a car that I was quoted dealer cost on, then given a "sweet" deal to get rid of my girlfirend's unneeded car, then when the terms "deal" changed, I'm stuck with a car that I'm gonna' have to pay full retail for!?

My question being, am I really stuck? Do I have any recourse? I haven't signed the new load agreement, and Chris is holding the original agreement over my head, "I can just cash in this one because I have your signature on it.", according to Chris.

I know everytime I look at this car, I'm gonna' think of "when I got took for a ride"

Can NE1 point me in the direction of someone that knows contract law?
