Default What tensioners/idlers do I need?

So, I've pulled my engine to replace the head gaskets, as well as all of the other seals and gaskets. I'm going to be other things like timing belt, water pump, etc. as well.

My question, I know I should replace the belt tensioners and what not, but is there a certain one I need? Or if I call my dealer, and tell them I need timing belt tensioners and idlers, will they know what I'm talking about?

They should know what you are talking about, if they don't then stay as far away from that dealer as possible. Idlers and tensioners can be pretty expensive, so if you don't want to spend a lot of money, then only replace them if you NEED to.

The car is just under 160k miles, and as far as I know, on the original timing belt. This car wasn't very well taken care before I purchased it. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Yeah, that's what I said. The previous owner bought the car at around 80k, and said he hasn't done anything with maintenance, other than oil and brake pads. And the brakes were shot, hahahhaa. And I bought it anyway. Dohh.

All the belts, all the pulleys, and all the fluids. Might as well shoot for the water pump too. Maybe do an UOA, just to see if there isn't any looming failure which you could blame the previous owner on

I blame him for EVERYTHING. Makes me feel better about myself. Mwahaha.

A/C belts, etc. will come, just not right now. I've already spent more money than I anticipated. Oh well, I like knowing my car will last for years to come. Water pump is on it's way as well, along with a bunch of other small fixes.

P.S. Got the prices on the idlers/tensioner. Thanks for the help guys. Now I just have to wait for my next paycheck. :P
