My last contribution to the forum before I have myself another subaru in the future. Just thought I would share some highlights for the years I have owned this car. It all started back in high school when I first heard about Subaru. I always liked cars but didn't know much other than what was popular back then, honda type-R, toyota supra, nissan gtr, etc etc. Never heard of a subaru until a friend's dad showed up with a blue GC8 with gold wheels. That was my first encounter with a subaru. Fast forward to university I was finally in the market for a car and there was a few choices in year 2002. I am going to admit I was a huge fan of the zz231 Celica (I think that's what they called it) and of course it was on the top of my list. The other choices were the RSX-S, S2K, 350Z (not out yet), civic EP3 and WRX. At the end it was a battle between the celica, rsx-s and wrx. With my limit exposure to manual transmission, I was only able to test drive the celica GT for a little bit. I rode in all three and ended up buying the wrx. 2 of my friends already had a wrx by then and it must have been the unique boxer rumble that got me sold. Anyways so here I was with the wrx and the life begun...
1)Ordered the genuine STi v1 lip right off the bat. I was gotta pull the trigger on some nice mesh bbs wheels on the subaru catalogue but I resisted because of the fairly steep prices. ![]() 2)After a few months the ricer virus suddenly hit me. I still miss the sound though. It was just the coolest thing back then. ![]() ![]() 3)At about 18k km I pooled some funds and dropped it. ![]() ![]() ![]()

4)You know what's next, wheels! I saw the first set of volks wheels at Team Work (does it still exist?) and absolutely love it. Something about the bronze finish that really got me.
![]() ![]() 5)I slowly found my interest in track days by watching Best Motoring vidoes. I though it was the coolest thing to do (bad move as I soon found out it was a huuuuge money pit LOL). So here I was, the first ever VIC track days!!! See if you can recognize a few cars there! haha.. ![]() ![]() 6)After my first ever taste at the track, time for some more rice. I was choosing between the Blitz Nurspec, HKS Hi-power, Greddy Evo, and this. I love my choice and did not regret one bit. One of the straightest turbo-backs! ![]() ![]() 7)Then I got this because I was tired of driving a bus. No the real reason was because I drove a few cars with small steering wheels and I knew I should have done this earlier. ![]() 8)Another few mods just to feed off the mod bug. FHI 4pot, Buddy Club P1 wheels (wrong choice because of the lack of clearance for any BBK) and JDM lights! ![]() ![]() Last edited by KIMUTAKU; 07-26-2010 at 03:52 AM. |

9)Sold the Buddy Clubs and got myself another set of Volks.
![]() 10)If I remember correctly, I did 1 or 2 PDC track days at mission prior to hitting down south for some serious actions. Meanwhile I upped the game to another level. That gave me a chance to run with the big boys. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 11)Did PIR a few times that year before I found out about Pacific Raceway. Signed up with Definitive Driving and off to my first lapping at Seattle. Then it was all Seattle from that point on. Don't even remember how many times I went, but at least a good 10 times over 3 years period. In between I did a few upgrades and never looked back. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by KIMUTAKU; 07-26-2010 at 04:06 AM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 13)This was how the car looked when I did my last track day with it this year. ![]() 14)Last few pictures before it went into the chopshop. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by KIMUTAKU; 07-26-2010 at 04:15 AM. |

I probably left out a few details but this is all the important stages of the car. It has gone to a good home. This forum has been great and I met a few cool people through my suby ownership. I have still got a few things for sale so I will lurk around for a little while but certainly won't be visiting as much as I used to. You guys will know if ever come back to the suby family!
winkwink new sti sedan? lol.. Peace! KIMUTAKU Last edited by KIMUTAKU; 07-26-2010 at 04:23 AM. |

Nice to see the progression, I saw quite a few of those steps and hope I was at least a small help in some of them as well. Hope you do return to the Subaru community but I'm confident your next purchase will be a good one. It's also interesting to see how we learn from our mistakes or trial and error and usually end up with the car we want. Good luck!

Definitely one of my favourite Bugeyes in VIC!
Can't deny she was so attractive and sexy on those LE28N. Hopefully she will go to a good home like my beloved did! ![]() |
