Wrong old man!

The fuel filter is NOT the sock, the filter is located just above the sock. Also on the 04-05 it is listed for replacement on the 60k mark of the maintenance schedule.

your stereo wont cause the problem unless you have some insane grounding issue. there should be a diy test for the fuel pump somewhere on here, and also a fuel filter is like20 bux and take 10 minutes to change but be careful because if that helps the problem it means you will be adding fuel to your situation, not sure exactly how much but it could make it go fat(rich), also, did you pass a smoke test? pressure test? does the idle fluctuation change with application of the brake pedal? also does your vaccuum reading change with application of the brake pedal, check all your sensors for solid connections, get a pencil eraser and some electronics cleaner(radioshack or best buy) and clean all your connectors..check your harness for any possible loose connections...make sure all your sensors are properly seated and or attached...just make a checklist on paper of the things I asked about and go through them one by one, the key part is to take your time with this tedious stuff because one single wire could be the culprit to a mess of issues with cars. I found a bare unattached wire on my harness and guess where it sits over...my knock sensor :/....just be overly anal about the whole process. my next logical step after that list would be to check each individual sensor with a meter and then your engine harness from the sensor connectors to the main disconnect thats dirrectly behind your driver's side headlight. let me know if you want help..you know I have a garage and the tools to help ya bro, and f.y.i. I STILL HAVE YOUR STUDDS AND LUGNUTS lol we need to fix that asap, hit me up tony

The fuel pump is just a motor correct? If it's having to work harder to pump through a dirty filter it would make excessive noise right?

Thanks Tristan. I know we did and i didnt think the pump would fail this quick... it really hasent been that many miles concidering how long my car was on jack stands and how long it was not driveable for.. it just seriously erks me.. i have NO idea what is even left to replace.. but i guess ill have to go over everything again.. I know Dylan checked basically every sensor on my car before i had to purchase a new ECU so i believe they should all be fine?

i dunno, maybe im missing something here.

I've learned that i need to laugh, exp about my car.. otherwise.. i will go INSANE!

I am very postive that the pump was the only thing replaced along with the sock. The filter might be just bad like stoner says. . .
