The Passage - By Justin Cronin - anyone in OT read this?

So it came out in June, and I had a 2 week Vacation in July.

I gotta say when my friend said to me to read it, I googled it....
"Post apocalyptic vampire story"
Was one of the first links, now i cannot stand a god damn vampire story, show, or movie right now...sick of them. but for some reason this book had me from go. Maybe because it's less(as in none) romantic vampire, and more crazy killing machine vampire....if you even consider them vampires, I guess that can be discussed as well, but an easy way to label them I guess.

Anyways, I read the book, and my wife listened to the unabridged audio book(36 hours) and the audio book was read AMAZINGLY, I recommend that for anyone not liking to sit and read.

anyone else read it? it's a long one, and it's a page turner, feel free to discuss it here.

It's a THICK read, be ready to turn a lot of pages!

I burn through books so fast, it's good to find thick books. Already a few chapters in, I like the writing style so far and it's sucked me in. Thanks for the recommendation!

I'll pick it up this afternoon. I'm always looking for books to read. +1 for liking long books; I went trough the whole millennium trilogy in a week and was left wanting more.

I split my time during the day surfing OT and doing work. (Priorities, here!) I read for a few hours most nights before I go to sleep, and read several books at the same time (no, not literally)... I"ll work on it, though

it's a three book series, this was the first in the series.

There is a lot of foreshadowing that goes on, but it also is interesting to see who things play out with that being said. throughout the book you had places that you read something bad happened, but instead something far more interesting happened.
