Is this worth the price?

So a guy in my area is selling a 96 Impreza L Brighton coupe 5speed for 800.00. The car is in pretty good condition, just a few dings. Only bad thing is the car over heated and the only good part of the motor is the shortblock. I have a 2.2L out of my current impreza L to swap in but I am just wondering if he is asking to high for a car that doesn't run? I am paying for it either today or tomorrow so a few opinions would be great! Thanks!

take the car and run, that is a good deal

If it overheated not even the shortblock is good. It will have bad bearings in it with an episode like that.

That's a fair price for the car. It's not a steal and it's not a ripoff. It's just average.
