Default Help NJ - Need a private inspection station that will pass tinted windows

As the title says, I'm looking for a private inspection station in NJ that will pass a car with Tinted windows. My emissions are all good they would just need to rubber stamp me through.

Thanks in advance

They normally don't allow posts like this, but starting August 1st the state is only doing emissions testing-no more safety or mechanical checks, so just roll through with the windows down.

I'm aware, but the rider to the rule is that all cars that failed for mechanical/safety reasons prior to Aug 1st have to get inspected according to the previous rules. That's why I was asking if anybody knew of someone who would be willing to bend the rules a little bit to help me out since the law is changing. I'd be willing to have them charge me to "remove the window tints" so that they can't be held legally accountable for them if through some crazy chain of events they got audited.

And to any moderators, if this is overstepping any rules just close the thread and I won't mention it again.

yeah I bought the car about a month ago...got it inspected, passed emissions (thank god for OBD-II since I have no cats), but they failed me for my window tints and my insurance card (since it was the temp card). really just need somebody to rubber-stamp the rejection paperwork.

I know a place. PM me. Also, you can get a medical exemption, that's what I did.

I'm not forcing anybody to do this for me. If a place says no I just say thanks and walk out. I understand its a risk for them, but what are the odds of the DMV looking into my records if I get a window tint violation to see the inspection place that passed me and fine them passing me?. All I say is I took them off to pass then put them back on. Or as I said above, I'll pay the place for 1/2 of labor so they can draw an invoice up that says they removed my tints and inspected the car, giving them legal indemnity in the event of an audit

That is not how it works. What it means is the state will send in fake customers to get things like this done, sort of like an undercover scenario. If they pass them the shop gets fined.

Just take the tint off, not worth the hassle

I'm due for inspection this month. No CELs and no tint. Borla headers and Prodrive catback. Will I have any problems with inspection?

Is there anything that says failed? Why don't you just go try again now at a different place and pretend like you're just overdue?

Or just pull it off and then retint (almost) legally.

My brother went through with his 95 Honda with a rather large pre-cat exhaust leak, broken headlight, corner light, and turn signal, and zip tie stitched bumper as well. Passed the sniffer no problem. So yeah, you should be fine with just about anything except CELs.
