But honestly, if you are going to have a high-speed roll, this is the best possible scenario.

They are lucky how it kind of 'tiptoed' from the front to the rear of the car and never landed on the passenger compartment...

It's the whole "rolling down the center of the road" part that you hope for, vs. hitting something solid...

This lets the energy actually dissipate and lets the cage do its job.

He can still finish, all he needs to do is hit rewind and then the X button.

The only bad part is they're rolling down the road, instead of through a field.

Road beds are hard.

That's a scary crash, though.

The interview afterward he was saying how that is his favorite corner of the entire rally.

In the final shot it almost looks like the right front wheel is not turned the same way as the left one when he lands the jump.

Road vs. field that might have rocks/stumps to compromise the cage...

I think I'll take the road.

What a graceful wreck. I like how the spectators jump out and clear the road.

So some jackhole had his camera and tripod on a cut line. You can see the damage at the beginning of the video in the upper corner.

Yeah, I'd bet that'd be really, really distracting. My thoughts while driving would be to go back and punch the owner of that camera right in the kisser.

Good to hear he's alright. Sorry to hear more problems for Ford.

You mean that time that Solberg threw it off the road (predicably of course) in Germany and hit one of those rocks meant to keep tanks on the road. The cage collapsed and almost killed Mills.

That's just the result of a strut suspension made to droop extra low.

... was this. Im fairly sure Phil Mills borrowed 2-3 of Petter's 9 lives, because he used all of his own on that one.
