Default Anyone know where there is a coin sorting machine?

Used to be a few grocery stores that had machines you could dump random coins in and they would count them, total it up, and spit out a receipt you brought to a cashier to get your money.

Anyone know of one of these around Vancouver, preferably Surrey area? I dont want to count the massive weight of coins I have accumulated over the years... The machines sometimes charge as much as 10%, but thats worth it to avoid the hours of separating, counting, and rolling...

Go to the casino.

I went to River Rock a few months ago with two BIG buckets of change, biggest coin was a quarter. 300+$, I think they asked if I was going to play and I said yes. They have a big sorter right inside the cashier's cage. Must've taken them 10 mins to dump it all

Throwing pennies out your window at hookers is not considered "paying prostitutes".

back to the coins- it seems like a waste to spend 10% of your savings just because you can't be bothered to roll them up. Isn't the whole idea of saving coins that little bits of money add up?

if 10% of your savings is in coins, then you have bigger problems

In my case I have a bunch of dimes, nickels and pennies because I dont want to carry them around. not so many quarters and no loonies, etc.

My Dad once complaioned that I was going to take them to a machine so he offered to do them for me. Had $150 in coins. Took him 18 hours to save $15. Works out to about 83 cents an hour. I make a little more than that.

So um, no coin machines apparently, just lots of good ideas to work around not having one.

a quick search on the coinstar.ca site looks like they've removed all of the BC locations, so the closest is in Bellingham.

but another option might be this (400 coins per minute)

Dayum... that could be good if I was convinced I had more than $40 in pennies in the jar!
