This is why its important to also click on the seller's Itrader rating to view their page. This seller had negative feedback from over a year ago for scamming someone back then. I don't know why would anyone buy from him.

Then there's almost no hope of getting your money back. If you'd paid with a CC you just call them up and they remove the charge due to fraud so you don't have to pay it. There's virtually no protection from PP despite what they tell you.

You can get your money back with paypal. File a claim asap, then close the claim after a day or two of not hearing from him. Paypal will review it and send your money back and charge him the money.

Paypal will not give you the money back. If that were the case every scammer out there would just scam Paypal instead of buyers. They will only give the money back if there is a balance in the scammer's Paypal account. If the scammer was dumb enough to keep the money in their account and PP sucked it back out, that's the only way it works.

Ahh i see. I thought they could also pull from the 2nd backup funding source or something. So if said scammer has a credit card / bank account on there.. it will also draw funs from those as well. Happened to my friend, he actually got reverse scammed. Then his card was charged and he got ****ed outta the money from the bank.

Basically, you NEVER use only your bank account to send money with PP. I actually have a separate checking account that I only keep $100 in to transfer money from PP to the bank account. All payments go through one of my credit cards to send money.

I've sold something on ebay before and a scammer tried to say I never shipped the item even though tracking says it was delivered. Since I had $0 balance in my PP account they made it a negative balance, but they never tried pulling from my checking account. And since I don't believe PP reports to credit bureaus they can never force someone to pay. Technically they can try to suck the funds from the bank account, but any scammer will just clear out that account. According to the PP TOS, they can suck ALL the money out of your checking account at any time and for any reason, that's why I have a separate account. I've had my account hacked before, so that's another reason to keep limited money attached to P.

So a few tips for PP:

1) Never pay with bank account alone since no protection is really offered.
2) NEVER keep a balance in PP (I can't stress enough)
3) Open up separate free checking for PP only. (BOA has totally fre accounts when opened online)

Hope this helps.

Yeah, resolved as in "we did everything we could but we could not recover your funds." Lesson learned; next time use a credit card.
