Question 7500 mi service

O.K. I did a search but cannot find out about this so.....
I got a notice from my dealer telling me I am due for a 7500mi service. Just what is that anyway? I can't find any mention of it in my owners maual and it would seem to me that I don't need any kind of service. Well, other than a new clutch so that buzzing and chattering will go the f*** away
I do not go to the dealer for anything anyway so it's just an oil change or something trivial no?

oil and filter change, tire rotation. just get them to do the oil change (since they do it for $19) and do the tire rotation by yourself.

im due for that service pretty soon too and checked the maintenance schedule which came with the car.

Heh, I got the same notice a while ago, so I called up the dealer and asked them what a 7500-mile service entailed. They faxed back an extensive checklist of items, including:

- rotate tires
- oil change
- check your horn (beep beep)
- check all lights for operation
- check and lube antenna
- set air pressure in tires
- measure your tire's tread depth
- check wiper/washer fluid; top off if needed

All for the low low price of $160 I decided to forgo the service and instead bought some jackstands for $10 and rotated my own !@#$ tires

- brew
