Default hows everyones front bumper looking???

for the age of my car I guess its not too bad, but I'm noticing alot nicks that can't be felt, but are visible..upon further investigation it appears to be the clear coat.

hmm I'll take photos when I get home, its hard to explain what it looks like. It looks like bug splatter, but in the clear and not actual guts if that makes sense.

I'm sure it is all highway related wear but I was just curious if this is normal for a scooby and what do you guys do about it? Let it alone?

thanks guys. I just got paint at the local dealer and i'm going to try and touch some of the up that go to the bumper. I'll photo that too

maybe I should touch up the big ones and leave the little ones there....seems almost not worth it to constantly fix it...I guess it looks cool in its own scooby kinda way lol.

I'll post pics still

Yup. I'm on my 2nd bumper (used to be 04 front for 80k miles or so, now 02 front) and they both look bad. Always have.
Maybe someday i'll break down and respray my front end.

Mine looks mint. Clear bra is an great way to preserve your bumper.

Horrible. My days of rocking coilovers involved far too much scraping. I am in need of a new one...

My front bumper is a mess, from auto-x, to not realizing how low the car actually is a few times, some guy throwing a wooden board out the window on the freeway, and a bit of angry tailgating(bad habit), its covered in chips, scrapes and cuts.

But, it looks decent from 10ft!

My 04 sti has only 10k miles on it and has probably 20 chips on the car.. Hood front bumper is the worse, doors and the drivers side skirt has three big chunks missing. Planning a front bumper respray eventually. And my bbs's have some chips in them. Subaru paint quality is a joke. I drive pretty carefully too

Mine just got resprayed alone with the hood. There were a lot of rock chips in the hood. Looks good now =)

could be where you guys live=/

driving around los angeles is ok for the most part.. well, ok for where i roam around specifically.. but it does suck whenever i drive up and down ca though

but i look at it as merely repainting being much better than having a random rock smash the bumper

mine is the same way...love my scooby, but the paint is quite disappointing. considering a full-car repaint to switch colors to go better with my theme...on a side note, has anyone else had any problems with their BBS' being dented really badly? I recently bought my 04sti and EVERY wheel is dented...is this typical of the BBS' or was the previous owner a careless dumb-ass?

meh mines not too bad for having 90k miles on the car and commuting on mountain roads. a few nicks and scrapes here and there, but nothing to cry about

My bbs were excellently taken care up but they still seem to acquire strange etching marks In them and odd tracer lines/serious un evenness in the texture.. I clean my car / the wheels thoroughly every week-other week and spray Detailer them when I can't get to a full cleaning of the car. I think the finish on the wheels is weak. Oh I've also waxed them completely three times since March. Hmm. Subaru paint = hugely flawed

The previous owner of my PSM wrx was probably a serial tailgater at 80 mph. The only upside of that was that I bought it with 87k when it was only a little over 4 years old, so highway miles are likely.

At around 100k a cop backed into my bumper, and I got a new one. Not only is it pretty much chipped to hell again at 137k, but the difference between the fog-light surrounds (about 1/3 black plastic 2/3 paint) and the chipped bumper looks pretty funny.
