Default What color to paint calipers? Red or Black?

Not sure what kind of brake upgrade I may want to do in the not so distant future, but for now I want to paint my calipers. So the question is what color? Red or Black?

Here's a fairly recent pic of my car to help visualize...

Black might be too dull, and it might not be worth painting..
Red might look cool.. like you have the Brembo's..
I'd still go with blue.. so you can set up a color scheme.. red and blue scheme on a wrx might look weird... although i've never seen it like that..

In the past I have used hi gloss hi temp ford red engine spray paint and it lasted like new for 15k mi (until I traded the car). I'm sure it's still great.

If you want them to stand out, paint them red.

I painted my calipers gloss black, and they almost blend into the wheel-well now. The calipers caught the eye more when they were bare metal (love that rust look ).

The black brakes suit the car, and it does look very clean... but I'm debating about adding a "SUBARU" stensil so that it looks like the 4-pots and stands out a bit more. (Ya, it's cheap, but I can't afford the real thing yet.)

So:
subtle = black
really noticable = red

Good luck!

Don't paint them red. It will look cheap, like your trying to look like you have brembo's.

Si2WRX, your car looks very nice.

After cleaing my wheels with Eagle wheel cleaner, it stripped the matte green color off the calipers. In other words, don't use Eagle wheel cleaner.

I repainted my calipers black using POR-15. It is a rust-preventative paint, very tough stuff. I had some extra left over from my Datsun 510 restore project, so I decided to give it a shot, since the calipers couldn't look any worse. They turned out very nice, gloss black, subdued, and the paint should last forever. FWIW, a friend painted his Jeep bumper with this stuff, then had to weld a repair next to the paint and didn't affect the paint at all. Brush on.

I would paint them silver, it just makes them look brand new all the time.

Red would look nice on the Blue. Either that or yellow. I'd only do yellow if I was gonna get the Rally Graphics though.
