Default HID's went kaput...

Just picked up a wrx with a retrofitted HID kit in place of the stock bugeye projectors... (please no comments on this, they will be swapped with something else asap).
Anyways, previous owner said he nevered wired the highbeams. So last night I was driving home, and hit the highbeams forgetting I had none.... Lights out. F with them a bit and get one to turn back on. Now only the one works, and when I hit the brights it goes out, and when I flash the brights it flickers like a strobe.
What's going on here? Was something shorted, burnt out? And when I fix this how do I wire up the highbeams?
Thanks.

Ballast probably going but that's just speculation since you said they are strobing.

First off nobody's going to bash you for having HID's on this forum lol, the retro fit is a very popular mod for Subarus and if done right look super good.

With that said, I have a pair, so it's funny that you mention this problem because I too had the same problem last night. I found that it was a bad connection on my 9007 connector, I just unplugged it and plugged it back lol and vuala! They worked perfectly lol. I'll be getting some electrical grease today to apply to the connector to see if it makes a difference.

Hope that helps

Mark
