Default OBS Sway Bar Inquiry

Hey everyone! I am going to purchase some sways for my OBS. I am looking at a RalliTEK Anti-Sway Bar Kit. I also saw the Perrin RSB kit; however, I am leaning towards the RalliTEK.

Would you all weigh in on what make and model anti sway bars you have installed on your OBS.

Might be a noob question but I am sure someone else may appreciate all the information to help them make their decision.

Thanks for the assist!

I have the Rallitek sways (22mm front/19mm rear) and love them. Make sure you get the kit for the non-turbo Impreza.

Roger that! Noticed that Perrin's have the ability to adjust stiffness. looks like Rallitek's are maybe at the stiffer setting. Is there anything I need to be concerned about other than installing the whole NA Impreza kit to include end-links?

I have an exhaust question as well...

I have read that if I choose to install a CAT-back SPT exhaust on my OBS, because of it being 3", the result will be a loss of power at the low-end RPM range. Is it really that noticeable?

Thanks for the advisement.

Don't know. I installed an OEM '09 WRX rear sway on my car prior to getting the Ralliteks, and that was a breeze. I had the Rallitek's installed by a local shop because we had a baby coming due and I knew that I wasn't going to have time to install them myself.

If you go up to the "Naturally Aspirated" forum, you will find an "exhaust sticky" thread. Read it, or as much of it as you can. People definitely report noticing the difference in power at the low end. Some people are willing to make that sacrifice for the sound, but I wasn't. I have an '08 OEM WRX cat back. Cost me $70 from a local WRX owner. My suggestion is that if you want exhaust sound, get the WRX cat-back, then swap out the muffler. You'll still get more sound, but you won't lose low end power.

Regardless, if you are looking for the "rumble" forget it. You need to replace your headers for that and no one, currently, makes a direct fit replacement header for the 2.5i.

Ogden, Exactly what I was looking for in an answer!

Yeah, I read through the threads you referred me to... that is when I came to the same conclusion that you state... no rumble for my OBS...big bummer; however, I was thinking that I would like to have a nice sporty sound. That is when I was contemplating just going to the SPT as they sound quite nice. Borla are great, but loud. I like your approach... Also read one of your other posts on the exhaust. Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on what muffler I should marry up with the cat back pipe?

As far as the ralliteks... when they get their endlinks in I will order them up.

Thanks for the assist, much appreciated!

I'm still running the OEM WRX muffler that came with my cat-back. I'd love me some rumble too, but I don't see the exhaust as making a big performance difference, so I haven't been willing too spend much money there. I foudn the cat-back I have for a chepa price from someone that lives 10 miles from me, so I couldn't turn it down, but in general, exhaust mods don't have a big enough bang for my buck. My focus has been more on the suspension and other areas of the car. Once I get done with those, I may put some more money into the exhaust. Hopefully by then we'll have some additional options.

Oh, the other thing about going with an OEM WRX cat-back and new mufflers is that it's probably a whole lot cheaper than the SPT too.

Nope. As I said above, I've never looked into it because exhaust mods don't rate very higly on my mod-radar. I don't care enough about the sound to prioritize them over areas where you can make a real performance difference in the car, like suspension.

how difficult was the front sway install?
I currently have the rallitek RSB and was wondering if adding the larger front sway made much difference.
I currently have a front strut on.
