I read about a Cosplay Cafe somewhere in Richmond recently...you can help those girls feel at home while trying bubble tea Necro.

I go to Orange Corner in Kerrisdale, but lately it's a bit hit or miss although it really isn't that bad when you consider that even the "best" bubble tea really is still loaded up with sugary sweetness.

Brilliant reminder. I distinctly see tapioca in the drink on the right.

It's a shame the uniforms fit so badly though.

Wait, this thread was about bubble tea right.

What do you guys order, anyway? I need some new ideas. And I should probably stop drunk posting.

hmm a lot of good ones were mentioned, some even i need to still try lol
"The One" on Kingsway in burnaby is really good~
Pearl House also in Burnaby is good too (2 blocks away from Estea on kingsway). Try their shaved ice~
Also, Chiffon in richmond is nice too. It's like at the end of the cul de sac on alexandra rd beside party world.

Ah yes, and also the Michi waffle place up the street (near Hon's) will add tapioca to their drinks, although they don't advertise it. I should try and get them to make a yin-yang with some of the badass espresso they've got there.

AFAIK, the fresh fruity-slushy drinks sniperz posted above don't actually contain any tea. At least, I can't taste any sort of tea in them. Usually, these places also make non-slushy "fruit teas" (tea with powdered fruit flavour) and "milk teas" (tea with Coffee Mate and sometimes even real milk - lol) with tapioca pearls (a.k.a. bubbles), or any variety of flavoured jelly bits. But the term "Bubble Tea" can refer to any of the above, and all of them are generally on the sweet and sugary side.

I think the fad originated in Taiwan.

I've also heard the term "boba" used for these drinks.

My aunt and uncle used to own a bubble tea shop and at the end of the day, they would let me have the left over pearls, needless to say, after a week or two of eating just pearls, I never wanted pearls in my bubble tea again...

Its very bias for me to say this, because I do work at bubble world in burnaby, some of you will see a '10 GR infront all the time. i think we have very good drinks compare to the ones out there. i personally don't refer drinks with milk in it, so during work.. all i drink is green tea. but as for price, we got one of the best prices out there with our huge 700mL mugs that we pour our drinks in.
