Default Stone chip on edge of door

I just realised that i've got a chip on the bottom rear door edge after only 1500 miles from new.

It's an Impreza Spec C so it doesn't have side skirts just like a WRX TR. I can understand the unavoidable minor chipping around the rocker panels, but this chip goes all the way to the metal. It's about almost 2mm in length.

And i've been driving on relatively clean roads.

I was thinking if this was caused by someone during delivery? With the doors closed, i can't see how a flying stone/pebble could make its way to the bottom of the door edge?

Anyone here (GD owners) with chips along the bottom of your doors? Was it caused by road debris/stones?

I'm glad you liked the place.

i'm aware of the 08s, which is what makes me wonder even more. My GD has a few chips along the rocker panels because i think without side skirts, that area is more vulnerable, but how is it possible can it chip the bottom rear door edge.

I have an 08 STI as well, and i do have quite a number of chips along flare of the rear fenders. I wonder if the chip on my GD rear door edge is a case of damage during delivery.

Or you could buy touch up paint that at least matches. If it is down to the metal strongly I suggest dabbing a little primer as well to prevent any rust issues down the line.
