Default 95 Subaru Impreza L AWD Body Questions

Looking at all the models of the Impreza, which body parts are interchangable. Im also wondering, will a 2.5RS front bumper with fogs be a flush change with my body?

Please Note: Im new to the Subaru scene and would like some help with this please.

What do you mean flush change? It will look fine.

It will look a little funny with the rounded headlights and ugly ass grill though.

No modifications providing you also get the right bumper beam. While you are doing this swap, do yourself a favor and look into replacing the headlights with 00 or 01 ones and also the front grill. That will setup you up should you ever want to replace the hood with one from an RS. There is also a light weight front bumper beam for sale that will help save weight off the front should you want to track your car.

There's nothing wrong with the newer 2.5 engines. The gasket issues were mostly from the 98 DOHC 2.5 motors. Subaru now sells thicker gasket kits to fix this issue with those motors. The SOHC 2.5's that are around now are pretty reliable. You can also look into getting the older 2 liter WRX motor from say a 2002-03, those swaps are a lot easier to do now then they were a few years ago due to more people becoming familiar with them.

I'm not a pro on CA. law but I think you'll only run into trouble when you mess with emissions stuff like catalytic converters. The 2.5 will bolt right in and all the plugs will be the same for the most part. The ECU will also run fine. If you went the WRX route, you'll have to do some wiring or find the loom already spliced, they are pretty common though.

You mean like an engine wire premade to go from a WRX to a 2.5?
also what do you mean about the cat. converters? cause im looking to get a full cat-back.

Also wanted to know, can do a turbo WRX engine swap in my car?

Yes, the loom essentially plugs the engine into the ecu and other sensors and so on.

Some exhausts don't have cat. converters, they flow better and create more power.

Swap the WRX engine right in, don't try to add a turbo to your EJ22.

Hmm I'm getting ready to do a swap and was also considering just dropping a turbo on my ej22 in my 96' but it seems that the 2.5 bolts right up and wires right up and already has a turbo. What year Rex would be a good 2.5 swap for this?
