Check ebay, $130 from most guys on there. Just make sure you do your research on there before you purchase, don't want to get stuck with somethign that doesn't fit.

Yea, the ebay ones can have A LOT of fitment issues. I've known people who have spent more money reworking the ebay set compared to purchasing a better set.

On the 2.5i it's not going to be that simple anyway. You're going to have custom fab work one way or the other because the headers for sale on ebay aren't compatible with your exhaust system. You have to either switch to an entire 97-05 exhaust system or have a custom fabbed cat pipe to connect from the header to your existing exhaust.

You realize you're offering turbo headers to a bunch of NA guys, right?

The Borlas will fit, just need a new HFC (say from boxer4 or rallisport if they ever decide to make some more) to connect from the header to your midpipe.

Nope... You don't have to get those ones.... But you will have to get a track pipe made up or order one with a cat..

the easiest way is to get borla header #17183 and the random tech dual converter, stromung single converter, or the track pipe from boxer4. depends on where u r and how strict the emissions r in ur area. i would also get a o2 sensor spacer for the rear sensor once you do these mods. it should fix the CEL light that will come on.

#1 don't get the trackpipe unless you plan on running a very quiet muffler or a loud muffler with double resonators in the centerpipe.

#2 you cannot and should not use an 02 spacer on 2.5i's, the best way to deal with cel's is to do what I do and have a local tuner remove the DTC's from the map in the ECU. Took my guy all of 10 minutes and has worked nicely.

#3 also with regards to trackpipes, my car stinks to high hell everyday, so if you don't want to deal with that, go HFC, not trackpipe.

#4 if you want to put on UEL's at all, I would suggest wrapping them unless you want to deal with the lovely sewing machine affect, which I have and can't stand, but wrapping is a tough option for me.

#5 if you live in an area where they lift the car to check for cats, go HFC. I live in NY and I am lucky to have a place that will pass my car without cats. Pretty much a friends hookup at a mod friendly shop.

#6 keep in mind, that eventhough the UEL's with give you a nice burble, it will never totally sound like a wrx. Alot of my local suby friends with NA's have the UEL's and we all agree that the burble is nice but compared to our turbo friends, we just don't sound the same.

#7 if you go the ebay route like alot of us have, sometimes the headers are not a perfect fit and need a little elbow grease to get on the head studs. Mine took quite a bit of elbow grease but finally got them on.

Just my advice to ya.

Question about the Borla and Borla reps headers.

I am putting a 2.5 SOHC engine in my Porsche 914 and I would like to use bolt on headers. So, does anyone know the measurement of how far the collector pipes hang down from the exhaust ports on the cylinder head? I need about 3.5 inches to clear my motor mount cradle.

Looking at Borla reps and OBX EL header as well.

I would appreciate any help...

HiJack over

I'm thinking you may have some custom work ahead of you..... Have fun making it not sound like an aircraft.
