Default Turbo kit

Does anyone know if this turbo kit can be adapted to fit my 2009 impreza 2.5i?

Putting the turbo on the engine is not the problem. The engine is. It's not built for boost.

I wouldn't do that to my 2009 impreza. But then again you're not me.
Try it out and tell us how it ends up.

This is your second thread about turbos.

Once is enough.
Head on over to the Aftermarket Forced Induction thread and read some of the stickies then go ask questions there.

Casey has a 2.5i wagon the thread is 2.5i-t over on the N/A with FI thread. He's running 7psi with no issues. But that's with the Cobb accesport as the brains. A piggyback might need lower boost. The engines handle boost just fine aslong as you don't turn it up. Run the right fuel and don't let ur tank go lower than 1/4 tank. 1/2 if your doing track days or rallycross. Then save up for pistons and or rods if u want more boost. There are some people running 10 psi but that's really chancing it and have 100+ octane fuel. Sean at rallitek is the tuner behind that tune on caseys car. Plus your 09 is a healthier motor than most that go turbo. Spanking wrx's is pretty fun when your a sleeper but have it set in your head that you will want to upgrade internals down the road. The block can take boost I have a friend who has a ej253 in his sti converted 06 wagon with wiseco pistons and rods from his sti and sti heads running 14 psi no issues. His sti block had some issues so he swapped pistons into n/a block and spanking

yes that kit can be made to fit your 2.5i but you will have to get it tuned to handle the boost and a low boost application 7psi and lower won't kill the EJ253 I would run 6PSI max

DIY PSI? Count the tires on your backup transportation. If there are at least two, go for it.

or 4 then your fine..again it will handle boost at 6 psi..you will get bored once you get use to it wanting to increase boost thinkin a lil won't hurt then boom. Open source should be able to do it from what people claim its the best...to me next to accessport its the best. lol my back up wheels is 6 so I'm going supercharged at 7 psi and I know it will handle boost fine..waiting on kit now

Ah, supercharging. That's actually the route I'd like to go one day. There is more usable speed and response from supercharging (in the range of normal driving that is).

2009 5MT 2.5i can be tuned. The real issue here if you are going to turbo your car DO IT RIGHT. I would wait till the warranty has expired personally but if you must just do it RIGHT. And ignore the negative, sarcastic comments this thread is bound to receive there is a member on this site that boosted his 2.5i from a homemade kit and it is running fine currently

I have an automatic version. I am also supported. I am going to wait until my warranty is over. I am just doing research as I plan to boost my car summer of 2011. Do you have the name of the member who has done this?
