Default Prepare the car for clear bra.

I was wondering what you guys would recommend to do to the front of the car before applying the clear bra. Should I wax it? I'm guessing not, as it would prevent the bra from sticking. Should I go over the paint with swirl-x or something else, and buff it really well?
P.S. The car has 18K miles on it, and already a few scratches and chips. But it's not too bad yet. Aside from the bumper, mirrors, and hood - should I do a few inches of the roof above the windshield?
TIA

Ya i wouldn't wax it, like you said the bra probably wouldn't stick. But yes i would polish it because after the bra goes on you won't be able to get to that paint until it comes off. I would say clay the area and then polish it.

I'm in Southern Oregon. I will probably do touch ups on the existing marks, too.

Just re-did mine and its not easier the second time. Mine required a little pulling because it was a slight bit narrower than the width of the hood. Yes water and soap is the way to prep it...ammonia or alcohol is not necessary. Clay bar it first though so you wont trap stuff already impaled to your hood.

Use distilled water with a small amount of baby shampoo for the lubricant. Use A LOT of the solution. You don't want to keep pulling it off when it doesn't line up. Having a buddy helps. Wish I could have submerged my whole hood to work on.

When you have it on, leave it out in the sun to heat up and mold onto the car. This will help relieve stress from the stretching and bends. If you have bubbles you can't push out you'll need a needle, I'll give you pointers.
