Default millage trip/ outside temp help needed

hi i have a 2002 bugeye.
my millage trip works but will not hold memory.
every time i turn the car off it resets back to zero. also maybe un related but the outside temp readout just says --- and the shift light resets its self also. (sti clocks) i have tried another clock set. and has the same problem.,

So you have an STI cluster in your WRX? That isn't clearly spelled out in your op.

yes sorry. sti clocks in a 2002 wrx. but the problem is the same with both the wrx and the sti clocks. everything else works as it should.

There is a fuse under the hood that ties continuous power to the areas that need it, like the memories. Make sure the fuses are ok under the hood. Use a test light to make sure power is getting to the fuses and to both sides of them.
