News 10th Annual 48hrs of Tristate, Jan 13-16, 2011

Just started to build the new website. Figured I'd get people warmed up for the 10th Annual Subaru Drive! This year we will be making a run from SOA Headquarters to a private Plant Tour of SIA, then back to Upstate NY!

More details to follow...

If anyone has pics of their cars from previous events and wants to get them displayed on top of the page, shoot them to me via e-mail in 600x80 to paisan@48hrs.info

I'm a likely attendant. Will depend on how willing the wife is to be left alone with a 4 year old and a 2 month old. If I go, I'm bringing the Tribeca, definately more comfortable for long distance. Probably makes sense to do some carpooling too, that way we can share the driving a bit. I can seat 7.

I'm thinking about it. I already did the SIA tour when I did the cross-country 2 years ago, so I'm thinking whether I should start from Cherry Hill or jump in after Indiana when the classic 48 starts.

not when you earn a few vacation hours every paycheck...my old job used to give me a flat number of days at the beginning of every year, but not here.

I should be able to make it this year... hopping off again in VT to ski with old college buddies.

Going to through Burlington again?? Should try to find some snowfields!

SOA->SIA->Buffalo->Ithaca->NJ

That's the rough plan for this year so far. We should grab a bunch of folks from Chicago on this too.

So, SOA on Thursday afternoon, drive to SIA for a tour Friday midday, then through Chicago to Buffalo Saturday night then through Ithaca to NJ Sunday? Rough schedule?

Probably pricey, but would be awesome to be in Chicago Friday night, Niagara Falls Saturday night then the long drive home Sunday.

I don't think we are going to get to Chicago, however we will likely have a bunch of the Chicago-area folks joining us for the tour, raffle dinner etc.

Thurs AM- SOA
Thurs->Thurs Night- Drive from SOA to SIA
Fri Morning SIA Plant Tour
Sat Drive from SIA->Buffalo
Sun Drive from Buffalo through Ithaca to Wayne, NJ

Alternately if you guys wanted we could do Friday Night in Chicago and do the Raffle dinner there.

Shoot over thoughts on that alternate plan...

Looks like Friday after the tour is the mystery day of travel. Only 2 hours from SIA to Chicago then 8 hours to Buffalo from Chicago for Saturday night.

Maybe we can find some nice back roads for for Friday afternoon on the way to Chi-town for Friday night dinner.

Or, we make more of the trip towards Buffalo to have some fun back road driving Friday and Saturday.

I've never really driven out there, so I don't know what fun roads are available, but I think with all the necessary highway driving, it would be important to get some fun roads too.
