Default Group N Mounts???

Alright, had the local dealership replace my headgaskets. I had given them the mounts to install while the engine was out. Went back to get my car and everything was fine except they didn't install the mounts. They said the mounts would not work because of my cross-member (2003 rs).

I was under the impression that they would work. Thought I did enough research, I guess not. Maybe I just need to get under there myself?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Wussman

Can't say I've ever heard of such a thing. AFAIK the Group N mounts will work on pretty much anything from the 1st gen Imprezas to the current gen.

they work on every ej with every crossmember. However, some cars have liquid filled mounts (LGT and 06 sti for example) and you have to buy the mounting plates as well. They probably just forgot and then made that up when you asked.

I installed Group N engine and transaxle mounts on my former SVX. The trans one went without a hitch; the engine mounts needed to retain the original plates with a little bit of cutting and some washers for spacing to keep the engine at its original height.

CN: If they fit the SVX, they sure oughta fit your car.

i had the same problem in my 03 OBS. they said the mounting plates would not align correctly. they were able to install them on the old plates...not sure if that has made a diff. in the overall rigidity of the setup.

Now come on, I know for a fact that you had to slot your mounting holes in the crossmember.....
