Default hella supertones help

so ive had my supertones for years, they werent looking so good so decided since they needed some sprucing up i would match them to my wheels. have worked great since installed, painted, put back on and now all i get is a subtle clunk from each. any ideas?

also i have always had them hooked up to factory wiring, never used the relay that was provided. also took them back apart to see if maybe too tight/loose and connections seem to be good.

any input would be apprecitaed, thanks in advance!

Why aren't you using the provided relay? Seems like that would be pretty important IMO. Other than that...check voltages at each horn?

Could be anything. I get incredible wind noise from mine. I would have used the relay though.

I would def try to re-install them with the relay. You could also try sanding the contacts and putting some dielectric grease on them.

I have mine going through the stock relay as well--no problems.

The bare metal of the horn needs to be connected to the engine chassis for grounding purposes. If you painted over all the surfaces you're going to have a very high resistance circuit and the horn will not work. Clean off the paint where the bracket connects to the frame and try again.
