Default High pitch whine

Lately when I've been keeping rpm's over 4k there is a high pitch whiny noise (not a turbo). It's getting louder and louder and I've got no clue what the noise can be. Has this happened to anyone before?

Where does it come from? The tranny? wheels? engine? Is it RPM or speed related?

Does it happen at WOT? Or just in general when above 3.5k? Also, where does it seem to be coming from?

I'd check your wheel bearings IMHO

Could be bearings, could be brake squeeler, etc.

Possible tranny related.

Well when I feel the urge to drive fast, I give over 50% throttle in lower gears like 1-3rd, keep rpms to 5,5k. From almost 4-5,5k the whine comes from the right side of the engine. Also the noise is more noticeable with windows down.

i've got a mean whine/ squeal as well. can't quite tell where it comes from, but under heavy acceleration over 3.5k it is pretty darn noticeable.

what vacuum line was it?
