sorry to say, you can't avoid that. If you look at all the dynos the tq doesn't peak until a bit after 4K. There is pull below that, but not much. Also the FMIC is just going to make it come on later. Maybe you should rethink you goals. You don't need a fmic to run low 12's...

One of the reasons why I want a FMIC is so I can get maxima Cooling for all the turbo components. and they do look very cool hehe, though with a FMIC Wont there be more lag?
im shooting for the vf-30 only b.c its got more topend power then the vf-23 does.

There seems to have been a few people selling vf30's in favor of a turbo that spools a little faster for a daily driver.

I went with the vf23 because of this and because it's bearing design. There will be a little more lag with a FMIC.

If you just want a drag car, get the vf30. There will still be a little lag with the vf29, but not as much.

I think the ideal VF turbo is the VF34, but you are going to pay for it. Other than that the APS SR40/15 would probably be a fairly fast spooling turbo with alot of top end. The cheapest I've seen the VF34 from a retailer is $1300 (german-autowerks), the APS SR40 is about $1550 I believe.

Default Can't answer yet

I don't really think I can answer that without experiencing both on my car. I am a new VF-30 owner and so far it seems to have more lag than stock, I live at 5200 ft too , but over 4K rpms it makes gobs of power. I think I am getting better mileage from driving around off boost most of the time. It isn't as peppy in traffic.

I am trying to get a ride in a VF23 car so I can hopefully vote for my VF30. Does anyone actually have a SR turbo yet? I can't wait to see what those will be like. Till then I have to reserve judgement on those.

I think for drag racing the vf30 is much better. I have the vf 30 and picked up 6mph thru the traps @ only 15psi. I will be bringing it up to 19 this week to see how she really runs.

Downshift1,

Thanks for your answer, however I could not see any reference to pricing, so I shall be a little more specific.

1. Intercooler assembly, corrosion treated, then powder coated black.

2. All air ducting (except for the LHS problem area) in custom moulded silicon hose.

3. LHS problem area custom shaped aluminum casting.

I trust the preceding makes it more straight forward for you to do your price comparison, looking forward to your response.
