Default whiteline ALK KCA334 no longer yellow in color? black now?

I got a 2010 sti, the part i want used to be in yellow (ALK by whiteline) part #KCA334

there is a KCA334M supposed to be the race version and they have always been black,

question:

they come in black now or it's possible they have the incorrect part in here? (possibly not even for sti)

Call whoever you bought it from tomorrow morning. Whiteline's site shows that the standard version is Yellow, and the Race/Motorsport version is black.

Call the dealer/supplier/manufacturer.

I'd call rallysport before opening and ask. Hands down best customer service I've ever dealt with.

I just got a pair of steering rack bushings, they were black. There is no 'RACE' version, and the pictures show them as yellow. Geoff from Cygnus Performance also said that Whiteline is moving to all black bushings.

They are calling it Fade to Black: http://www.whitelineus.com/fadetoblack/

I think when their Korean plant shut down they had to find a new source

Exactly right. Earlier in the year Kim Jong-un shut down their main manufacturing facility and from what I understand he wouldn't even release the molds or the tooling. After that a whole lot of the yellow bushing and swaybars starting going backordered. Some of them are made in China, so not all part numbers were affected. Now the ones coming off of backorder all seem to be black.

To me they feel stiffer, but I need to buy a durometer to actually confirm this. I suspect that many of their bushings are not exactly the same compound or hardness since they now have them made in so many different places. This is probably why they chose black. When some stuff is made in China, some is made in Korea and some is made in various other places making the yellow match is a lot more difficult than making black look uniform and match.

It was around the time that all of this went down that we started importing a lot of Super Pro. Since Super Pro bushings are made 100% in house in Australia by the people who designed them there is no chance at all that they will ever be shut down by a communist dictator. It also means that all of their bushings perfectly match in hardness, compound and color. That is why they can choose a pretty unique dark translucent blue and have them all match perfectly.

This is a joke right?

I highly doubt white line products were made in NORTH Korea.

There have been some pretty derp posts coming from this vendor account......

I know this doesn't help much to the specific part/elastomer but pertains to Whiteline and changing to black. I recently got an order of endlinks from Whiteline and they were black housing instead of the nickel and yellow. I asked AZP and was informed there was an improvement in how they were made and this would differentiate the change.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaesong..._and_reopening

It's a joint industrial zone inside North Korea that is shared between South Korea and North Korea. Car parts and other components made inside of this zone which was shut down by Kim Jong-un earlier this year are regularly imported to the USA and other countries around the world. For example the fuel pumps in most Kias and Hyundais sitting on US dealer lots today were built inside of North Korea by the Daewha corporation. If I have made any other so called "derp posts" feel free to reply to them and I'll be happy to respond to you.

Thanks,
Geoff

Yeah I think he we just taking a wild guess that I was wrong without doing any actual research Here is more evidence for anyone who needs it... Uniworld a subsidiary of Daehwa is the company who was producing parts for Whiteline and probably still is:

http://uniworld.en.ec21.com/company_info.jsp

And as you can see they do indeed operate within Kaesong:
