Default 24,000KMS service

Hi all,

I am almost due for my 24,000KMS service. I am wondering if
I have to get it done at the Subaru dealership. Could I go to a "midas" lets say and have them perform the required service? If I hang onto the paperwork stating it has been completed will I have any problems?

Thank you in advance

you can get it done anywhere as long as you keep the reciept to prove that the work has been done. I do all my services myself

Not sure where you are in ontario, but you might want to look into getting it done at subaru lachute in montreal.

And get ready to bend over and take it up the...........

Honestly, the dealers seem to charge $250-$400 for this service. So not worth it. Most of the stuff you can do yourself (simple stuff like oil/filter, fuel filter, etc), and what you can't do, any decent mechanic can do. I got mine completely done for about $75 total by not using the dealer....

Subaru lachute is supposed to be the cheapest of any of them, by a significant margin according to the toronto subaru club. There's a reason why they are one of the most popular dealerships for subie enthusiasts down east.

I just had mine done last week at Gemini. $139. I skipped the new airfilter. I would do the big ones 24K etc at a dealer. I have had probs with SOC and the first thing they do is check your svc record and try to blame you.
