Question Trailer wiring 08 Impreza 5-door?

Has anyone found a way to do this yet?
When I researched this car, I checked that I could put on a hitch, but didn't check that wiring kits were available.
The hitch install went smoothly, and I've spent several hours pulling out carpet and trim, looking for a convenient place to tap into the existing harness to add the trailer wiring, but still haven't been able to figure out where to attach.

Someone a little more enterprising than I must have done this by now....

Anyone?

Thanks,
Dave

If there's a plug, it's very well hidden. I've done this before on an '01 Forester, a '98 Legacy, and an '05 Legacy Outback and they've been easy to find.
On the Impreza, the lights are mounted outside of the wall of the trunk area and I haven't been able to track where they come back to hit the main harness.
I've seen a harness diagram that names a couple of connection points that should be easy to tap into, but I haven't been able to locate them physically within the vehicle.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Dave

Default mission accomplished

I installed a wiring harness this weekend. Pulled out the taillight assemblies and loosened or removed enough plastic trim in the cargo area to get at the wires I needed to attach to.
Had to use a splice-in harness, as there was no trailer-ready plug to tee from.
I could have made all the connections behind the plastic panels, but that would have required removing them entirely. Instead, I pushed wires through the grommets and made connections near the connectors at the light assemblies. Tapped into the cargo area light's harness for power for the converter module.

Took about 90 minutes.

I still don't understand why the coupe models are towing-ready, but the 5-door is not supposed to tow at all.
