And in theory a 4eat should be faster than a 5mt any day. That's y all the (big boy) drag cars run auto's. Faster shifts without loosing torque and at that fact if u tune ur boost correctly you can maintain max power for longer periods of time. But I highly suggest a build 4eat for most turbo applications. I run a 98 impreza L 2.2(w/ high stall converter) and my buddies 07 2.5i w 5mt can't touch me.

Automatics are better for drag racing past a certain point. As in, 500+ HP cars. If your car is slow, it's gonna be slow no matter if its AT or MT. MT allows you to launch a little faster, and if you're proficient in shifting, can beat autos all day.
