Default Oil light blinking

Is it normal for the oil light to blink when the engine tries to crank over? I checked the oil and it's full.

This only happens when I start the car and once the engine is running, the light never turns on.

Oil sending unit, oil pump on it's way?

I flickering oil light at startup can be the first sign of oil pickup failure. SEE PICS HERE

Sometimes it blinks and sometimes it just stays lit until the engine is running.

How hard is it to replace the oil pickup?

Also check the electrical connector to make sure it's clean. I've heard stories about dirty connections that caused something like that.

Bad connection will typically give a dim light, not a flicker. Never hurts to check though.
