Default Brakes... Halp me!

Edit: resolved. enjoy this complimentary picture of a brake system

Long story short - NYS inspection denied based on rotor condition (which is BS, but not the point now).

Upon removal of rear, driver rotor, a spring and couple rusty pieces pop out of the p-brake assembly.

Looks like it's the "shoe hold down pin" (15). See picture from FSM. The pin is toast and looks like part of it is still in the hole.

Any recommendation as to where to get a new one (fast) and get rid of the old one?

Car is a 2000 Legacy Sedan with discs all around.

Your local dealer could get the part fast. As for the old pin, maybe drill it out if it's that rusty?

Best o luck.

Looks like the whole "parking brake hardware kit" is available at my Advance Auto. I went with the knee-jerk "post-first-look-later". Chances are I'll be back with a drill bit through a brake hose or something!

thanks
