Default Would you buy this?

I have an employee that drives alot for work, but it's almost all highway miles. and it's cheaper for me to buy a company car that they can drive than it is for me to pay them by the mile.
it's this car, price will be lower through
I have a 2005 Subaru legacy 2.5i limited with 101 thousand miles.
The only reason i wonder is the mileage, is it worth it since I will get it cheap? or is it going to be more trouble than it is worth?

Get a civic. So much cheaper and slightly more reliable and less fun to drive spiritedly. Also better gas mileage.

He's a big guy(6'4'') and the awd of the subaru makes the overall drive better around the winter world(nebraska), plus it's still leather inside and comfy, and I can't have my reps rolling up in some crappy civic.

lets just say other cars aren't an option, if you had the chance to buy this one, would you...or would you spend 3k more and get the same model/year/interior and get one with 60 thousand miles.

Oh, didn't realize he was a sales rep for you. I was also wondering where you were located... I couldn't find "Home" on the map.

I would just inquire about the previous owner's age. Otherwise it looks good. Hard to tell from pictures though.

I've got a 96 Leg with 214k on it, still runs fine. See if they have service records on it, as long as it's been properly maintained you can get another 100k out of it.

If you can, get them to change the timing belt and belt tensioner (if not done already)

I will ask for that, and I will run a carfax on it as well, I guess as long as they are highway miles it really shouldn't matter. it was a leased car in 2005 then it has changed hands after lease and until now.

A late 1990ies or early 2000 Ford Taurus would be much cheaper to purchase, maintain, and operate, offer decent head and leg room, and with proper winter tyres provide acceptable traction for winter highway use.

While I am no big fan of such vehicles, not all people are especially enthusiastic about a Subaru.

I'd pass and start with one more reasonably priced. My friend listed his 06 Limited w/ 76k miles and BBS wheels for $11k and it didn't sell immediately...

If they're a sales rep, get a Forester. Better load space interior and easier ride especially over rough roads.
