Default What's the potential of the 2011 STi?

hey guys, ever since I sold my 02' bugeye, I didn't do much research of the 08+ STi hatch. Well, I'm looking to return to the Subaru family cause I'm digging the 2011 STi Sedan (minus the wing) Anyone know the MSRP locally?

Could I see 400+ hp with catless dp + a ecu flash?
Could I trail with evo x or M3 at mountain passes?

I know I'm lazy not searching...

400 hp at the crank or at the wheel?

I don't think the engine is very different from previous STI's so 400hp on a stage 2 tune is unlikely.

ok, so some 600-700cc injectors, FMIC, ECU flash, catless exhaust = 400 at the crank? That's about 280-300 at the wheel.

it really depends on what your car is set up for regardless of the year.

IMO with proper suspension, tire, brake setup, you can easily take evo X, and trail behind a newer model M3?

(well it also depends on the driver, like if you are the stig you wont even need to upgrade)

what's the rough number that the 06-09 STi running with stock turbo's but, say a stage 2.5 upgrade ?

Any chances to compete with the german's C63 or M3, even porsche or american muscles?

damn, i'm heading to the dealership this week !

Billy, definitely for 400 HP you need turbo and a minimum of a bigger TMIC or better, an FMIC. That being said, to get 400 ft.lbs you wouldn't need to much more than injectors, catless DP and a custom tune. On the track it won't take much to keep up with any of the cars you mentioned, on the highway that is a different story....but then you don't street race so I assume you are talking about the track.

Yup Jamie ! Definately not street, but it's not the track neither ! I can't even make it out of the house due to the father's duties ! After that, I wanna bake another one in the over soon !

Anyhow, what kinda performance figure I can see from this new 2011 4 door STi ? Any new found power or is it just another plain jane STi with no excitment? Why am I so hyped about it? hahaha

^Thanks Onetuning !! I'll be on nasioc the whole day at work now !

^Link, I'm sure I'll do up this STi again if I got it ! Bigger turbo, huge front mount, custom tune and lower offset wheels, then call it a day !

Yeah, having a little one used up all my energy ! I haven't wash my cars for over a year now !!

^ nah, the hatchback is kinda ........ meh !

I always liked the sedan style. But musta de-wing first !
I'd just insured the EG last week. Pretty fun to drive cause it's so light. Had it dialed in 2 degree of front camber on that thing last week at Advance auto.
Waiting for the KW coilovers, GSR front brakes and some new tires. Then i'll wait for next year's track day.

^cool, is the F360 insured too? should come by and visit my home sometimes if you are around Richtown.

The JDM STi sedan is de-wing as factory, the wing is an option in Japan anyway.
