Default Lap Battle's OctoberFAST, October 30th 2010

LapBattle.com & Rally Sport Direct are all proud to present the 3rd annual Lap Battle's OctoberFAST, October 30th 2010 at Miller Motorsports Park! Let's see what we can do to make this an official RMIC meet?

So, here's what I got for you so far... There will be more, oh yes there will be more!!!

Free SPECTATOR Entry:
That's right, you get into world famous Miller Motorsports Park for FREE! Even if you aren't going to actually enter any of the motorsports event, you can still come out and watch and support the local racer free of charge.

Lap Battle Time Attack:
For the 3rd year in a row the most talented drivers with the fastest cars in Utah are heading to Miller Motorsports Park at the end of October. Once again, they will attack the track and fight it out for the quickest time, prize money a champion's trophy. Lap Battle is Utah's exclusive competitive time attack source and the only ones bringing you MMP's world famous Outer Loop! Compare your times on the very same course as the world's best. The Outer Loop is home to the American LeMans Series, World Superbike, NASCAR, Grand Am, World Challenge and the 2011 NASA National Championships just to name a few.

If you feel the need for speed... If you want the chance to put your driving skill and car's performance to the test... If you want the chance to compete at North America's premier race track... Don't miss your chance! It is open anyone with a safe car and a sportsman like attitude. For Official Rules and Register please visit LapBattle.com. Space is limited and it is first come first serve, we have sold out our last 6 events and with the prestige of MMP's Outer Loop the retry list will fill quickly, so don't wait.

Lap Battle's Ultimate Car Challenge:
In addition to the normal Lap Battle time attack we are introducing the Ultimate Car Challenge. This will pit drivers and their cars against each other in an event like none ever seen in Utah. Not only do you need a fast car, not only do you need to know how to drive it, you now get credit for how good it looks and what it took to go fast. The Ultimate Car Challenge is open to any Lap Battle Competitor and the registered owner must drive the car.

Lap Battle Ultimate Street Car Challenge: $200 prize for 1st place (Lap Battle Street class rules apply)

Lap Battle Ultimate Tuner Car Challenge: $250 prize for 1st place (Lap Battle Race class rules apply)

The Ultimate Car Challenges will consist of 2 points events. Time Attack and Appearance/Engineering, 75% and 25% respectively. The contests will be graded on a curve with the top Time Attack finisher getting 75 points while the last place finisher getting only 1 point. Similarly, the top finisher in the Appearance/Engineering portion will get 25 points while the last place car will get 1. I(Biggie) will pick 4 impartial judges for the show portion with me being a tie breaker if needed. Remember we are racers at heart, so you will get the most points for form with function.

Bring home the victory for your favorite cyber hangout while also taking home an extra $100 prize for 1st place(Fastest competitor representing a regional forum) along with a 100,000 post count worth of bragging rights!!!

I said that the most talented drivers in Utah would be there. And it sounds like you will be there too.

I will be there. I would be willing to be a judge for the show as I am not going to be racing. I figure that my car is already the unbiased best, so I don't need to prove anything anymore...

I am pretty unbiased as well. As long as no Saturns show up.

The MPRA will be running the MPRA Enduro...

And Lap Battle will have sessions before and after the Enduro.

its like when, the second session ends at 1130 and we only have an hour for lunch and have to be back by 1230, but the next session doesn't start til 2:40...they could fit it in that gap if they wanted.

do you have a schedule yet biggie?

Exactly, if you have a 3 hour enduro between sessions there are a number of things that can occupy that time. I will list just a few.

1. Work on your car! There are a number of things that can and should be done in between sessions to help improve lap times. Having a large gap between sessions will give the time needed to complete more complex tasks such as take tire temps, check and/or change tire pressures, check/add fluids, rotate tires, check/replace brake pads, bleed brakes, analyze information from data acquisitioning system, adjust anti-sway bars, adjust ride height, change spring rates by replacing coilover springs, analyze information from ECU datalogos, adjust map for optimum performance, inspect tires and car for damage or wear... The list goes on and on!

2. Volunteer to be part of a pit crew. There is no better way to learn about racing than being part of a race team. Watch the races and interact with the racers! If you are interest in improving your driving, learning about setup or possibly moving up to full door to door racing some day, there is no better way to learn about the sport than watching and learning from people with experience. Not every MPRA driver will be running in the enduro at the same time, talk about the race while watching the action. Some of the people racing MPRA have over 20 years of experience racing. And more than likely they will give you access to that vast knowledge.

3. Interact with your fellow Lap Battle drivers. Go to lunch with your friends and/or make new ones. Compare lap times and setup results with other drivers. Discuss different lines and how to improve your lap times while eating or watching the enduro. Help build the community by helping grow camaraderie.

4. Take a long lunch by yourself, take a nap or both. Hurry home and rub one out. If you don't want to make any adjustments to your car, to your driving or to your personal relationships with the other people at the track... Go hide, get rested, get hydrated, stay cool and get refreshed.

The schedule is up to Miller, and they like to wait until the last minute to post them up.

Sarcasm recognition fail. I, for one, am very excited to watch the endurance race. I'd love to give a hand in the pits and try to pick up some advice and lessons.

Eric is a very good driver and with 285s all around he gets some grip. The only FWD competition he has is from the MPRA Acuras and he can beat most of the AWD cars, too.
